Like any other genre, some black poets are not nearly as good as other black poets, but all in all, you can find some great stuff by black poets. One of my favorite black poets is Shel Silverstein. I could read his books over and over again. As far as black poets go, he is probably my favorite, and in second place in the black poets genre for me would be Langston Hughes.
